Understanding Legal Implications of Artificial Intelligence in Restaurants
Join Angelo Amador, Executive Director of the Restaurant Law Center, and attorney James Gatto with Law Firm Partner Sheppard Mullin for a live presentation addressing the legal implications and best practices for minimizing the risks associated with artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Restaurants’ use of AI, including generative AI, is growing and implicates a host of legal issues. As restaurants and food service organizations are turning to AI to help with a wide range of functions, including intelligent ordering assistants, computer vision-based quality control, restocking kitchen ingredients, “cloud” based cashiers, and automatically responding to online reviews – it is important to understand the legal issues and how to develop policies for responsible use of AI. This presentation will address how restaurants are using AI, legal issues that can arise from such use and how to develop AI use policies to mitigate the legal risks.
