Gas Bans on the Front Burner

A review of current and proposed gas bans in the United States and the potential implications of the California Restaurant Association v. City of Berkeley decision on the future of such bans.


In this 60-minute live webinar, Angelo Amador, Executive Director of the Restaurant Law Center, will be hosting Tanja Vujic, co-chair of Jenner & Block’s Transitions in Energy and Climate Solutions Practice, and Meredith Hurley, associate in Jenner & Block’s Energy Group.

Presenters will discuss how gas bans operate and identify jurisdictions where they have been passed, prohibited,or contemplated, as well as the reasons for their proliferation. The webinar will also include a review of the recent ruling by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in CRA v. Berkeley which struck down the Berkeley, California, ordinance prohibiting gas infrastructure connections for new buildings and an analysis of what might come next in the case and beyond.
