The Restaurant Law Center and other trade groups urge the Seventh Circuit to reverse the district court’s decision requiring Samsung to pay $4 million in arbitration costs. We argue that the district court improperly assumed arbitration agreements existed for everyone on an unauthenticated lawyer provided list, while disregarding serious problems with said list, such as individuals on the list that were deceased, had fictitious personal information, and/or submitted multiple demands under different names.
